Elaine Campbell BSc(Hons) in Psychology
It
was during my studies in psychology at Stirling University that my
interest in child development started. When I qualified I worked as a
Children’s and Young Persons Worker at Stirling Women’s Aid for 6 years
until I had my own 2 children. I then became a Childminder, which
I enjoyed for over 6 years. During that time I studied for my SVQ level
3 in Early Years Childcare and Education and went on to work at
Beaconhurst Nursery for 2 years. When Janet told me she could not
find the type of class she was looking for we decided that we should
use our own wide and varied experience of childcare and knowledge of
child development to create our very own baby class. |
Janet Spence
As
a mum of 4 children, and having worked as a childminder for the last 10
years, I have long had a keen interest in child development, and
learning ways to encourage early learning. I love to read books,
magazines, and parenting websites to keep up to date on new research,
theories and expert advice on how babies develop and learn. After
I had my fourth child I wanted to take him to a class where he would
have fun and be stimulated from an early age, but I couldn’t find what
I was looking for. So along with Elaine, we decided to set up our own
dream class and so Brainy Bairns was born. |
